PINS AND ELKDOM  I am not sure where the tradition stared, however Elk Pins are part of the BPOE culture. Originally the Elks used "corks"...
they were known as the Jolly Corks before they
called themselves Elks. The cost of the pins is born by the person who has the pin made, not the Lodge... so there are not a lot of any one of them... they are special... as each one of them tells a story... that is why they are highly prized and collectible. When you receive a pin, it is a gift from the person giving you the pin, and they thank you for, and value, your friendship and support. When I had pins
made, I was told that I should integrate something from my personal
life into the design... something special to me... that had meaning to
me and others would recognize...
I actually had TWO designs made for the pins... Both are below... the second design was my LOGO from my years in the FITNESS and HEALTH CLUB INDUSTRY... and that would have high recognition among those who knew me personally... and would indicate STRENGH THRU UNITY... it's colors were RED WHITE & BLUE... The BRING IT ON ELK design won out... as I beleive that the message of UNITY THRU TEAMWORK and the TEAM ELK CONCEPT was my top priority as Exalted Ruler... I also did not put my years on the pins, the reason being that I feel the message that our Lodge was Chartered in 1888 is FAR more important than what year I was the ER. I will share the 2nd design with you... and yes, there were a few of these pins eventually made as samples, however no quantity order was ever placed... there are a few of these around... but only a few...
